VERTICAL was created in 1984 by the company Francital.

At the begining VERTICAL was 100% climbing. But with the arrival of Patrice DHEU in 1994, VERTICAL became more and more important in the Francital range

In 1195, Patrice DHEU introduced a new excusive memebrane named MP+.  Thanks to this innovation, VERTICAL will propose in 1997 the first softshell with memrane. In 1198, Vertical will also present the first MP+ jacket 100% stretch.

In 2006 after the creation of products such as the Shelter Ultra the Windy Summit, the two companies  VERTICAL et Francital spited.

Patrice DHEU, who pushed for the autonomy of VERTICAL unfortunately died in a hikking accident in August 2006. As requested by Mme Dheu, the company VERTICAL is bought by the french company Beal in October.

In July 2007 VERTICAL get 2 Outdoor Awardsin Friedrischafen iby introducing two evoluitions of its MP+:

- MP+ Céramic: thanks ot the principles of far infra red energy allows an increase of the performances and also a better detoxification of the muscles.

- Blue Sph'Air: anti condensation system wathever the conditions are.

In 2009, VERTICAL continues his cysle of innovation introducing new products in the Shelter and Windy ranges.

VERTICAL will also propose a jacket 100% made in France (material and manufacture). This jacket named Dheu, is a tribute to its historical manager. It represents our commitment ,to a responsible process of manufature and trade.
